Saruul Batbayar

Co-Founder & CEO, Nomadify Expeditions

The Explorers Club Member | Chair, Roy Chapman Andrews Society Mongolia Chapter

Saruul Batbayar is a Mongolian expedition leader and cultural heritage researcher based in Ulaanbaatar.

As co-founder and CEO of Nomadify Expedition and Chair of the Roy Chapman Andrews Society – Mongolia Chapter, she organizes and leads multidisciplinary expeditions in paleontology, archaeology, biology, geology, and cultural heritage research across Mongolia. Her work includes the Roy Chapman Andrews Centennial Expedition (2018), recognized with The Explorers Club Citation of Merit, and the ongoing Roy Chapman Andrews Legacy Expeditions (2025–2027), alongside the Forgotten Legacy of Yvette Expedition retracing the journey of Yvette Borup Andrews.

Saruul is an International Member of The Explorers Club, East & South Asia Chapter, and is committed to supporting Mongolian institutions, preserving cultural heritage, and engaging young people through paleontology education.

Her professional work centres on science, heritage protection, documentation and international collaboration.

Before entering the cultural heritage sector, she worked in tourism for a decade. Building on that experience, she researches Mongolia’s natural, historical and cultural heritage. She takes an active part in field research, develops research concepts, conduct risk assessments, helps disseminating research results through storytelling. As a culture and tourism professional with experience in international relations, she helps build partnerships between Mongolian scientists and international researchers and organisations.

Her mission is to link natural and cultural heritage research with international collaboration, open new opportunities in heritage protection, and connect research results with education, public knowledge and sustainable development.
